This outing is to Portsmouth and its historic dockyard with its various attractions. We have been before but during the winter and cold weather. This time is summer and hopefully good weather. There is now a new attraction which is the brand new Mary Rose Museum, which is opening this springtime. It is a £35 million project to build an internationally renowned museum and complete the conservation of the ship and reunite the hull of the ship with many of the 19,000 Tudor artefacts recovered from the sea-bed. New galleries will contain some of the objects and run the length of the ship, corresponding to deck levels, so you can experience what the decks would have looked like before the Mary Rose sank.

We have timed entrances to the museum at 1.15pm and 1.30pm.

In addition to this museum, there are all the other attractions to savour, like the National RN Museum, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior 1860, Action Stations and an included Harbour Tour by boat. There is much to see and do, so come along and enjoy and support your Museum.
