October 2017: Starting the Autumn/Winter Lectures
After the AGM, Wednesday 4th October at approximately 2,30pm.
Minnie Pallister: A Cabbage for a Year.
Speaker: David Hatherell
Minnie Pallister came to Bexhill in her middle years, by which time she had accomplished much in her chosen field. Her later life, here in Bexhill, took other paths and she became a nationally known figure. She leaves behind an amusing mystery.
No charge for admission on this occasion but donations for refreshments would be much appreciated.
Wednesday 18th October at 2.30pm.
Sussex Gravestones
Speaker: Kevin Gordon
People have been buried in Sussex for thousands of years. Kevin has toured Sussex looking for examples of odd and ingteresting gravestones and graveyards from simple wooden crosses to huge pyramids. A different subject for a talk but one that people find interesting!
Charge £4, or £3 if you are a member. Refreshments included.
Venue: St Augustin's Hall, St Augustin's Close, off Cooden Drive, Bexhill TN39 3AZ
