Can you help? Stepping Out to the Roaring 20s.

Stepping Out to The Roaring Twenties

Do you live in a 1920’s house? If you do the walks team of the Local History Study Group would love to hear from you. We are especially interested In what was known as the Cranston-Leslie Estate which covered the land of Watt Clark’s and Bragg’s ( also known as Fatlands) farms and stretched from Collington Mansions to Walton Park, and from Broadoak Lane to the railway line.
We have found 1920’s house building taking place in Knebworth and Warwick Roads with Hever Crescent and Dalmeny Road; in Cranston, Collington and Terminus Avenues; and in Holmesdale Road. It would be a great help if anyone could name builders or architects or tell us something about the first residents.
If you think you can help please leave a message at the museum, 01424 213026 or administrator@bexhill museum.co.uk
If you would like to join a walk visiting some 1920’s houses it will take place on April 23rd – details can be found in the latest walks brochure.
