Bexhill Museum is delighted to be working with Gateways to the First World War to present a First World War Question Time event on Thursday 19th March 2015 in the Education Room at the Museum. Just like Question Time on the television, the Museum will have a panel of experts ready to answer your questions on the First World War. Questions can also be submitted in advance to the Gateways Twitter account @GatewaysFWW.
On the panel will be: Chairman Dr Sam Carroll, Community Historian for the Gateways Project;
Dr Lucy Noakes, Reader in History at the University of Brighton and a member of the project team;
Dr Chris Kempshall, expert on East Sussex during the First World War and member of East Sussex County Council First World War website project;
Geoff Bridger, author of The Great War Handbook.
Claire Eden who led Bexhill Museum's successful Heritage Lottery Funded Bexhill Remembers project in 2014.
The panel will be available to meet participants at 12.30 when teas and coffees will be served. Questions start at 1pm.
The Gateways to the First World War project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Their expertise is in operational and military history, life on the home and fighting fronts, propaganda and persuasion, the medical history of the war and maritime and naval history.
This event gives Bexhill's family and local history enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in the Great War a rare opportunity to draw on the expertise of leading figures in the field.
